Cosmetic dentistry?

what you think?

Cosmetic dentistry?
I think that before you have it done you should have a consult since its not reversible. If its something you really want to do I say go for it but after you get all the info. It doesn't hurt its just a lot to get use to. But in the end I think you will be pleased!
Reply:It has it's place.

Can be helpful to replace buck teeth and gaps.
Reply:costs an sbsolute fortune! but if you can afford it have it done... you use your teeth every day so it will be money well soent i think?
Reply:I don't like seeing signs that say "Cosmetic Dentist" when I have a toothache.

I'm sure it has it's place, but I think it's overdone and of course most dentists are trying to jump onto the money bandwagon.
Reply:Id like to have it done as my teeth are quite yellow from years of tea drinking and smoking! A good idea in theory but of course, as with all cosmetic procedures, some people can go too far. There is such a thing as teeth that are too white lol xx
Reply:what procedures are you talking about... there are composite (teeth colored) fillings, veneers, crowns... even invis-align can be considered cosmetic. You would have to be more specific. Is there something you are interested in changing?
Reply:Definitely, "Yes!!!" Take a look at yourself, you only have 'one' smile, and that smile can take you many places that a frown never could. The smile is one of our most effective means of expression. If your planing on ever being in sales of any kind, or dealing with other people in any capacity, your smile can make or brake you. Now, Ill be the first to admit that it's easy for me to write to you suggesting cosmetic dentistry, but how do I suggest your going to be able to afford it? I mean, if you had the money handy, you probably wouldn't be asking the question in the first place, you'ld simply be getting the work done. However, cosmetic dentistry can be very expensive, so what do us normal everyday people do when we need the help that usually only is available to the wealthier folks? This is where I believe that I can be of help to you, and many others who may well be in the same situation. My name is Kenny, and I am an IBO for a company called AMERIPLAN, which has affordable DENTAL PROGRAMS available! Individual plans cost $11.95 per/month, or you can cover everyone living in your home for only $19.95 per/month. This is a Discount Program, and not an insurance policy. Everyone is excepted, regardless of age or situation, (with the possible exception of being in the middle of an orthadontist treatment). here are just a few examples of the savings thats available: Braces 4 children, normally $4500.00, $5000.00 4 adults, with AMERIPLAN DENTAL childrens braces are discounted to $2000.00, %26amp; adult cost $2200.00. To get a Porcelain Crown normally runs $1192.00, w/AMERIPLAN DENTAL $525.00. These savings reflect a 56% reducion in cost, saving you %26amp; your family literally thousands of dollars worth of dental work. These saving are for real!!! Please, check out my web site at www.deliveringonthepromise.com/40492238. I've become a member of AMERIPLAN DENTAL because I believe in helping others. Once you've joined %26amp; saved some money, you'll be joyous to share AMERIPLAN DENTAL with your friends %26amp; family as well. I hope this helps you make the important decision to have your work done. Have a blessed day!!!
Reply:First of all, Kenny is dead wrong. No reputable "cosmetic dentist" discounts their work. The lab fees alone would make deep discounts ridiculous.

You should know two things:

ALL dentistry is cosmetic - at least in part. EVERY restoration should be aesthetically pleasing.

There IS no recognized specialty called "cosmetic dentistry". The ADA does not have such a designation, so any dentist can call themselves that. Doesn't mean they are outstanding in that area.
