Cosmetic dentistry?

is a partial concidered cosmectic and false teeth?

Cosmetic dentistry?
Cosmetic usually refers to something that doesn't necessarily have to be done. It is an elective procedure like veneers, or bonding, bleaching your teeth. A partial would be considered more restorative or prosthetic.
Reply:This sounds like an insurance-related question. A partial is made to replace a missing body part (your tooth) and is therefore generally not considered "cosmetic" by insurance companies. That doesn't mean that it won't make you look better, though. :-)
Reply:Cosmetic dentistry is not necessarily fake teeth. It is also including bleaching teeth which are not naturally white like that. It also includes veneers (basically tooth covering) porcelain covering rather than the metal coverings and sometimes white fillings are also considered cosmetic dentistry. False teeth..depends on what you are talking about. Implants are cosmetic but dentures are not.
Reply:Implants are not generally considered a cosmetic procedure.

In insurance terms, most procedures which restore functionality of the teeth, rather than appearance only, are not cosmetic.

Implants, fillings, dentures, crowns, bridges, all help the mouth to function - to eat and talk.

BTW, replacing a missing tooth with an implant is good for the mouth - it isn't just for looks.
