What is a good way to correct teeth gaps?

Rather, a slight gap. My two front teeth are slightly separating but it's not a uniformly spaced gap. There's a piece of my gums going in between them so it forces them to go out sideways a tad, and they also go outwards to come a bit of an overbite to fit with my bottom rowof teeth. I'm thinking of braces but they take a long time and cosmetic dentistry, both of which are pricy. I read somewhere that a simple retainer can fix teeth gaps but I myself don't think it's as effective.

What is a good way to correct teeth gaps?
First all, if you have gum tissue in between the teeth.. braces wont work! The tissue needs to be removed.

Now.. some dentist can remove it... and some wont. Depends on the doctor and if he does it. Otherwise he'll send you somewhere to get it done. Usually a 'Periodontist'.. he is a specialist that deals with the 'Gums'. He will remove it, if your doc wont.

Now... you can either get... Crowns done to close the gap, or Veneers. And also you can get Composite fillings done (added to your teeth) to close the gap. Also, braces... BUT if your front teeth are the only ones your not liking.. i wouldnt go there. It takes to long, for 2 simple teeth and cost way to much. Either way, the tissue will have to be removed first!! Composites will be your cheapest option. We do this procedure EVERYDAY, and its not hard to do. Patients walk out, very happy and satified.
Reply:I don't know, I had a very small piece of my gums in between my gap before I got my braces and I didn't have it removed and my teeth are straight now. It seems like as my teeth became closer and closer, that tissue started coming off. It was really small though, so maybe that makes the difference. Report It

Reply:I had a procedure called "bonding" done between my two front teeth. Essentially they just bond little tiny pieces of porcelain (I think) to the side of each tooth to fill in the gap. I had it done over 8 years ago and have never had a problem.

Reply:braces. the clear ones.
Reply:Too many unknown factors that need to be considered that you left out of your paragraph above. You will have to contact a good dentist and discuss these issues with them. I can give you are referral if you tell me the town you live in.
Reply:Cosmetic bonding by your dentist is the least expensive way to go. I had mine done twenty years ago, and it still looks great. Cosmetic bonding is the tooth colored filling material. There is also the option of veneers, which is a porcelain facing that goes over the teeth. They are your "quickest" options. Braces is your other option.
Reply:As per the condition mentioned (a link to your picture would have been better), you may need few minor nature of treatments. A periodontist may address the gums giving you a procedure called gum contouring. The next step would be to have the overbite addressed by an orthodontist who will give you traditional braces or invisalign as you may choose. The retainer would be useful only if you want your overbite to stop at a point where it is now, and not go further out. But if you are looking for correction, you need braces.

Finally, the cheapest way to close the gap (diastema) between your front teeth is tooth colored bonding. It will serve you for many years. But the other expensive way would be porcelain veneers which some times is necessary to have 6-8 veneers to achieve symmetrically esthetic smile, as two veneers though may successfully address the gap but may end up disturbing the esthetics of your smile.
